Anastasia Tory’s large-scale relief composition is created from canvas, ceramic forms, sand and fine copper wire. Organic volumes and structural lines form a complex network system reminiscent of marine life, microscopic organisms, and neural connections. The textured surface, rich in deep shades of blue and grey with gold-patinated ceramic forms, evokes a sense of flow, transformation, and living energy.
In her practice, Tory explores the intersections between natural and technological systems, between corporeal and digital matter. "Ascendance" embodies the idea of organic interconnectedness — within ecosystems as well as in human perception. The wire elements function as connective lines, binding material and energy, forming a visual metaphor for contemporary interdependence.
The work can be read as a meditation on the networked structure of the world, where the organic and the artificial merge into one continuum. It engages with key themes in contemporary discourse — ecological fragility, posthumanism, symbiotic existence, and biotechnological transformation.
